Banana Republic’s stylish springtime pants party of four

If you don't have a Ryan, a Sloan, an Avery or a Logan in your life, it's high time to make friends with one.

This spring, Banana Republic is unveiling a new range of pants — in new silhouettes and fabrications — to give women more options for different body types, different days and different occasions.

Read on and start thinking about which fit fits you best.

These slim-ankle slacks are the skinniest fit of the bunch, likely to strike a chord with customers who are already in love with Banana Republic's skinny jeans. Though the Sloan is a tried-and-true Banana Republic staple, look for updated pockets, a reduced inseam that hits right at the ankle — even for shorter customers — and a range of colors that pop, different yarn dyes and prints.

Take it from filmmaker Smriti Keshari, who says "Finding the right pair of pants is always a challenge. But these feel like they were made just for me."

Pair the Sloan with a long cardigan, a relaxed T-shirt or one of the brand's signature blouses.

These slim, straight fit pants are versatile and flattering for a range of body types. They fit straight from the waist to the leg opening, skimming the body without being too fitted. And, since it doesn't bunch at the ankle, it looks great with flats and heels alike.

This fit comes in a variety of different fabrics, including an elevated lightweight wool — which has a blazer to match.

"I'm always on the search for a classic, comfy, sophisticated pant. The fit of these is perfect. They are the ultimate find!" says fashion assistant Pamela Katz.

Wear the Ryan with a blazer or a button-down, or dress them down with a sweater for a more casual look.

The Avery tailored crop ankle pants fit straight through the hip and the thigh, hitting at crop length: just above the ankle. Like the Ryan, that means this style looks great with your favorite heels and flats.

"They're like a menswear pant, but more feminine — I love the hint of stretch and beautiful details inside the waistband," says event planner Natalia Costa.

Dress up the Avery at work with a blazer or wear it with a t-shirt and pretty top for a more casual weekend look.

You'll find the Avery pairs well with Banana Republic's newest lightweight separates, including a matching blazer, novelty colors, seersuckers and some of the brand's most covetable prints this season.

The Logan pants are the most dressy of the bunch: think an updated, feminine version of a classic trouser silhouette with menswear details. The Logan features a straight fit through the waist and hips with a flattering trouser-leg opening. The result: a balanced, universally figure-flattering silhouette.

These pants, available in a lightweight wool, feature the longest inseam. Pair them with heels for maximum leg lengthening powers. They look great as a full suit or with a strappy top for a night out.

"I love the long, lean look these give my legs. Putting them on is like an instant transformation," says Jersey Banks, innkeeper.
