People Power: How Gap Inc. makes retail magic

You ask your friends for restaurant recommendations. You ask your friends about the movie they just saw. So why wouldn't you ask your friends about where they work?

Hear fashion industry pros talk about the passions that drive their Gap Inc. careers, and the ways in which they've been able to impact one of the world's largest fashion companies, in a new video series.

“There are so many opportunities across multiple brands, multiple countries… You can fulfill an entire career in this company,” says Dana Dito, Old Navy's senior director of inventory management.

Learn more about the career opportunities across brands and functions at Gap Inc. and the supportive team culture — prevalent throughout the company's fashion-obsessed headquarters — from the people responsible for obsessing over your clothes.

Whether a part of the Merchandising team, which makes stores (and customers!) look great; Inventory Management, which figures out how to get customers exactly what they want; Production, which brings to life the amazing ideas created by the fashion-obsessed Design team; or anywhere between, every team — and every person — has an equal opportunity to shine.

This year, that equality was honored with the 2016 Catalyst Award to Gap Inc. for leadership in equality — a culture established by Gap Inc. co-founders Doris and Don Fisher in 1969, when they opened the first specialty retail store as equal partners.

Nearly 47 years later, Gap Inc. has expanded to five brands — Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Athleta and Intermix — that can be found in hundreds of cities across the globe.

“I love the fact that every brand has its own unique look and its own unique mission,” says Athleta merchant Adriana Davila.
