Making lemonade out of lemons with GapKids and babyGap

ExperienceGap Inc. blogsComment

When life gives you lemons, don't just make lemonade: Start a lemonade stand. That's the motto of the GapKids and babyGap capsule collection, currently available online and in select Gap stores across the globe to raise money for cancer research.

Alex Scott was diagnosed with pediatric cancer two days before her first birthday. Even as her health continued failing at age 4, she did what lots of kids do — she started a lemonade stand in her front yard. But this particular lemonade stand raised money for pediatric cancer research. Alex passed away at age 8 in 2004, but her legacy lives on in this special collection benefitting Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.

In total, fundraising stands at Gap Inc. San Francisco and New York headquarters raised more than $7,800 for the organization. Meanwhile, the fundraising continues in Japan. A customer-facing lemonade stand will be set up at the Gap Flagship Ginza store on June 11 and 12, with proceeds going to CancerNet.jp.
